To Share...or not to share

In contemplating the perfect house for our family we have asked the question of how many bedrooms would be ideal. I always grew up with my own bedroom and loved it but there is something to be said for the relationship that is (hopefully) built when forced to share a room. So I pose the question to you--What do you think is better-having the kids share rooms or allowing each child to have their own space?

I shared most my childhood. I was about 13 when I got my own room. Me and my sister had such a wonderful time sharing- we still talk about the goofy stories we would make up and tell each other, the game we would play with each others bed. Of course there were fights and trying to draw a line down the middle of the room with chalk- that kind of stuff. But We have such different personalities that if we hadn't been forced to share a room all those years we wouldnt be the best friends we are now. MY sis would have had nothing to do with me. I was girly she was tomboyish. So I'm thankful for it.

Share with enough space to not share...confused? Since whatever home you plan on buying you plan to live in for a very long time, it is important to think about future space. Maybe you won't need the four bedrooms for your kids right now, but think about them coming to visit for Christmas with all their families in 15-20 years...you will want the extra space then so that you all fit at your house. Right?
